A joint resolution of the Senate and the House of Representatives of the state of montana requesting an interim study of the health care delivery system; and requiring that final results of the study be reported to the 68th legislature.
WHEREAS, the COVID-19 pandemic demonstrated the need for all Montanans to have access to health care; and
WHEREAS, the public health emergency placed portions of Montana's health care delivery system under stress; and
WHEREAS, individuals and entities that provide health care in Montana have gained significant knowledge about the ways in which the health care system was affected by the pandemic.
Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Senate and the House of Representatives OF THE STATE OF MONTANA:
That the Legislative Council be requested to designate an appropriate interim committee or statutory committee, pursuant to section 5-5-217, MCA, to review the knowledge gained and lessons learned about Montana's health care system during the COVID-19 pandemic.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the study investigate best practices for the health care delivery system and ways to implement those practices.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the study include input from appropriate stakeholders.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that all aspects of the study, including presentation and review requirements, be concluded prior to September 15, 2022.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the final results of the study, including any findings, conclusions, comments, or recommendations of the appropriate committee, be reported to the 68th Legislature.
