Explanation - Items 1 and 2 of this amendment are for the Community College Assistance Program in the Commissioner of Higher Education. Item 1 increases general fund appropriations in FY 2022 by $300,000 for Flathead Valley Community College. Item 2 increases one-time-only general fund appropriations in FY 2022 by $300,000 for Flathead Valley Community College and provides a restricted, biennial appropriation of $400,000 for Bitterroot Community College in FY 2022.


Items 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 of this amendment are for the Appropriation Distribution Program in the Commissioner of Higher Education. The appropriations for Teacher Education Programs and Cyber Hub total the same amount over the 2023 biennium and are split evenly between each fiscal year. The appropriations for Workforce Recovery COVID-19 and Accelerate Montana were reduced by $750,000 over the 2023 biennium and the appropriations were split evenly each fiscal year. The appropriation of $2.0 million over the 2023 biennium for the Center for Translational Medicine was eliminated.
