A BILL FOR AN ACT ENTITLED: "AN ACT REVISING LAWS RELATED TO JOB DESCRIPTIONS FOR Elected PUBLIC OFFICIALS; and PROVIDING AN IMMEDIATE EFFECTIVE DATE."

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MONTANA:

 

NEW SECTION. Section 1.Duties of public officers. (1) The job responsibilities of an elected public officer may not be changed during the officer's term of service unless the officer has been consulted and consented to the change.

(2)        Any changes to the job responsibilities for an elected public officer must be publicly available at least 30 days before the filing deadline for the position.

 

NEW SECTION. Section 2.Codification instruction. [Section 1] is intended to be codified as an integral part of Title 2, chapter 16, part 1, and the provisions of Title 2, chapter 16, part 1, apply to [section 1].

 

NEW SECTION. Section 3.Effective date. [This act] is effective on passage and approval.
