A BILL FOR AN ACT ENTITLED: "AN ACT requiring that prospective adoptive parents be informed about the requirements and process for becoming a licensed foster parent; REQUIRING state-licensed CHILD-PLACING AGENCIES TO DISPLAY SIGNAGE; AND requiring the department of public health and human services to provide signage to state-licensed child-placing agencies."

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MONTANA:

 

NEW SECTION. Section 1.Information to be provided to prospective adoptive parents -- foster care licensing. (1) A department or agency from which an individual is seeking to adopt a child shall provide the individual seeking to adopt with information related to the requirements and process for becoming a licensed foster parent in this state.

(2)        A state-licensed child-placing agency shall display signage and literature regarding the requirements and process for becoming a licensed foster parent. Signage must be placed on the premises in a manner that is visible to the public.

(3)        The department of public health and human services shall provide signage and literature to all state-licensed child-placing agencies for the purposes described in this section.

 

NEW SECTION. Section 2.Codification instruction. [Section 1] is intended to be codified as an integral part of Title 42, chapter 3, part 2, and the provisions of Title 42, chapter 3, part 2, apply to [section 1].
