A BILL FOR AN ACT ENTITLED: "AN ACT REIMBURSING LAKE COUNTY FOR PROVIDING LAW ENFORCEMENT ON A PORTION OF THE FLATHEAD INDIAN RESERVATION; PROVIDING AN APPROPRIATION; and PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE."
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MONTANA:
NEW SECTION. Section 1. Appropriation. There is appropriated $42 million from the general fund to the department of justice to reimburse Lake County for providing law enforcement on a portion of the Flathead Indian reservation for the biennium beginning July 1, 2023. The department of justice shall submit this amount to Lake County by August 1, 2023.
NEW SECTION. Section 2. Effective date. [This act] is effective July 1, 2023.
