A BILL FOR AN ACT ENTITLED: "AN ACT transferring funds from the general fund to the coal SEVERANCE tax trust fund; and PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE."
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MONTANA:
NEW SECTION. Section 1. Transfer of funds. Within 15 days of [the effective date of this act] the state treasurer shall transfer $2 billion from the general fund to the coal severance tax trust fund created by Article IX, section 5, of the Montana constitution and established under 17-6-203(6).
NEW SECTION. Section 2. Effective date. [This act] is effective July 1, 2023.
