BY REQUEST OF THE JOINT COMMITTEE ON POSTSECONDARY EDUCATION POLICY AND BUDGET
A BILL FOR AN ACT ENTITLED: "AN ACT ALLOWING THE STUDENT MEMBER OF THE JOINT COMMITTEE ON POSTSECONDARY EDUCATION POLICY AND BUDGET TO BE COMPENSATED; AMENDING SECTION 5-20-206, MCA; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE."
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MONTANA:
Section 1. Section 5-20-206, MCA, is amended to read:
"5-20-206. (Temporary) Compensation. (1) Legislative members are entitled to receive compensation and expenses as provided in 5-2-302.
(2) Members appointed by the board of regents and the student member appointed by the governor are entitled to:
(a) $50 for each day in which a member is actually and necessarily engaged in the performance of committee duties; and
(b) travel expenses, as provided for in 2-18-501 through 2-18-503. (Terminates July 1, 2005--sec. 1, Ch. 225, L. 1997.)"
NEW SECTION. Section 2. Effective date. [This act] is effective July 1, 1999.
