At its Nov. 7 meeting the Economic Affairs Interim Committee continued objections to two proposed rules (one by the Board of Dentistry regarding dentures over implants and one by the Alcoholic Beverage Control Division regarding penalties for violations of the Alcohol Code). The committee also added a January meeting and reviewed expectations for ts 2019-2020 work plan related to alcohol laws, the lodging facility use tax, broadband, and occupational licensing concerns of those with criminal convictions.

The Jan. 15, 2020, EAIC meeting will begin at 1:15 p.m. in the Capitol.
About the Committee
The Economic Affairs Interim Committee (EAIC) is a joint bipartisan committee of the Montana House and Senate that meets between legislative sessions. The EAIC conducts interim studies and generally reviews issues related to business, labor, and economic development. Under agency oversight, the EAIC monitors the Departments of Agriculture, Commerce, Labor and Industry, and Livestock, as well as the Office of the State Auditor, the Governor’s Office of Economic Development, the Montana State Fund, the Division of Banking and Financial Institutions, and the Alcoholic Beverage Control Division.
