Study of State Labs at MSU Bozeman

The study of the state-supported labs is a bipartisan committee of the legislature established in HB 661 during the 65th Legislature. The committee is directed by the Legislative Finance Committee (LFC), but is comprised of two members each from LFC, Environmental Quality Council, and Economic Affairs Interim Committee. The Lab Study Interim Committee will review the long-term future of and possible efficiencies to be gained from state-supported labs on the campus of MSU-Bozeman. The committee will develop and analyze economically viable proposals for each lab including infrastructure, organizational, and statutory changes and the financial implications with each proposal.

The committee's work plan outlines how it will carry out its duties as well as describing additional topics the committee decided to explore.
