The Environmental Quality Council meets January 15-16 as part of Legislative Week. The meeting begins at 1 p.m. on January 15 in Room 172 of the Capitol. Major topics of discussion include:

  • HJ 38 study of bonding, decommissioning, and remediation for energy facilities
  • SJ 20 study of wilderness study areas
  • Chronic wasting disease
  • SJ 30 study of wildlife location data

The EQC will also revisit its decision in September to object to a Department of Environmental Quality proposal to increase subdivision fees used to pay for work to review plats and subdivisions and conduct inspections and enforcement activities.

Other topics on the agenda include sage grouse conservation program activities and staffing, agency compliance and enforcement reports, and agency litigation reports.
