The Law and Justice Interim Committee (LJIC) will gather on August 19th at 8 a.m. in a video conference meeting.

Members will learn how budget changes are made during the interim and hear about two recent legislative audits related to state and contracted correctional facilities and programs. The Department of Corrections will also update the LJIC on its COVID-19 responses and its Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) compliance work. Time will be provided for public comment.

The meeting will be streamed live online at: https://leg.mt.gov/ and be broadcast on the Montana Public Affairs Network.

An agenda and instructions on how the public can comment during the meeting are posted on the LJIC's website.  

Written public comments are also accepted and encouraged. Written comments received by 12 p.m. (noon) on August 18 will be provided to the committee members in advance of the meeting. Written comments received after that time will be included in the committee's minutes log for the meeting.
