The Legislative Council and its Rules Subcommittee will be meeting August 24 and 25.

  • The Legislative Council Rules Subcommittee will meeting at 9 a.m. on Monday, August 24, 2020, in a Zoom meeting to discuss proposed rules changes for a standard 2021 session and potential rules changes for a remote/hybrid session
  • The full Legislative Council will meet at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, August 24 and continue at  9 a.m. on Tuesday, August 25.  The meetings will be conducted as Zoom meetings. 

The Legislative Council and the Rules Subcommittee will be meeting primarily for 2021 Session preparation.  Information regarding caucus and orientation, remote session capabilities will be first on the agenda.  The Legislative Council will also receive information regarding the current biennial budget and approve a preliminary Legislative Branch budget for the 2022-23 Biennium.  The Legislative Council will also consider multiple bill draft requests, include the standard Office of Budget and Program Planning requests for the various budget bills traditionally House Bill Nos. 2 through 15, the Feed Bill, a bill on the statutory reports to the legislature, a bill related to legislator education activities, and the code commissioner bill.

Public participation:  These are public meetings. If you wish to view only, the meeting will be streamed live on leg.mt.gov and broadcast on the Montana Public Affairs Network (MPAN). A time will be provided for oral public comment on the agenda.
