Energy and Teleommunications Interim Committee to Meet

The Energy and Telecommunications Interim Committee (ETIC) meets July 31to chart its course for the 2017-18 interim. The organizational meeting begins at 9 a.m. in Room 172 of the state Capitol building in Helena.

The ETIC, at its first meeting of the interim, is required to review the state energy policy and determine if future meetings should be dedicated to revising the policy and recommending changes to the 2019 Legislature.

During the July 31 meeting in Helena, the ETIC will also accept public comment about the energy policy. Montana's energy policy includes a wide range of goals, and it can be viewed HERE. Energy policy work also may be incorporated into the committee's overall work plan.

During the July 31 meeting, committee members also will adopt a draft work plan mapping out their work for the interim, and elect a presiding officer and vice-presiding officer.

Members of the 2017-2018 ETIC are senators Mary McNally, Tom Richmond, Scott Sales, and Cynthia Wolken and representatives Laurie Bishop, Zac Perry, Derek Skees, and Daniel Zolnikov.
