     35-21-702. Mutilation or removal of remains without authority -- penalty. Every person who mutilates, disinters, or removes from the place of interment in a mausoleum or columbarium any human remains without authority of law shall be punished by imprisonment in the state penitentiary for not more than 3 years or by a fine of not more than $1,000 or by both.
