The Legislative Council will meet on May 23 and 24, 2018, in Butte.

The business portion of the agenda will be held in the Copper Lounge of the Student Union Building at Montana Tech.  Items for Wednesday include Legislator Orientation and Training schedules, a proposed 2019 Legislative Session Calendar, and a report on a study of legislative calendars from 1999-2017.   Reports and recommendations will be presented from the Subcommittee on Legislator Compensation on changes to the constituent services account, a third-party method of setting compensation, and a review of information on third-party compensation commissions.   On Thursday, the council will review a proposal from the Department of Military Affairs on the sale of Sidney Armory to Richland County, and the Subcommittee on Harassment Policy will present a draft policy for legislators.  Information will also be provided on the current budget status and a schedule for submission of the 2020-21 Legislative Branch budget. 

The agenda includes tours of the Berkeley Pit. Montana Resources, Orphan Girl/Orphan Boy Mine and Geothermal Site, and Headframe Spirits Manufacturing.
