     19-5-801. Payments upon employment-related death. If the board finds that a member died as a direct and proximate result of injury received in the course of the member's service, a survivorship benefit must be paid to the member's designated beneficiary. The survivorship benefit is the actuarial equivalent of a member's retirement benefit provided for in 19-5-502.
