     20-30-404. Jurisdiction of courts -- service of process. (1) Any postsecondary educational institution not exempt from the provisions of this chapter, whether or not a resident of or having a place of business in this state, which instructs or educates or offers to instruct or educate, enrolls or offers to enroll, contracts or offers to contract to provide instructional or educational services in this state, whether such instruction or services are provided in person or by correspondence, to a resident of this state or which offers to award or awards any educational credentials to a resident of this state submits such institution and, if a natural person, his personal representative to the jurisdiction of the courts of this state concerning any cause of action arising therefrom and for the purpose of enforcement of this by injunction pursuant to 20-30-405.
     (2) Service of process upon any institution subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of this state may be made by personally serving the summons upon the defendant within or outside the state, in the manner prescribed by the rules of civil procedure, with the same force and effect as if the summons had been personally served within Montana. Nothing contained in this section shall limit or affect the right to serve any process as prescribed by the rules of civil procedure.
