     7-6-2401. Creation of office of county auditor. (1) Except as provided in subsection (2), the office of county auditor exists in all counties of the first, second, third, or fourth class.
     (2) The provisions of 7-6-2401 through 7-6-2413 do not apply to counties having a population of less than 15,000 persons according to the most recent federal census.
