     7-6-4104. Duties of city treasurer relating to finances -- exception. It is the duty of the city treasurer:
     (1) to receive all money that comes to the city, either from taxation or otherwise, and to pay the same out on the warrant of the mayor, countersigned by the clerk, drawn in accordance with law;
     (2) to give every person paying money to the treasurer a receipt, specifying the date of payment, the amount, and for what paid;
     (3) to pay out, in the order registered, all warrants presented for payment, when there are funds in the treasury to pay the same.
     (4) This section does not apply to a city that has adopted the alternative accounting method provided for in Title 7, chapter 6, part 6.
