     7-6-4235. Limitations on appropriations after budget adopted -- exception. (1) The estimates of expenditures, itemized and classified as required in 7-6-4224 and 7-6-4225 and as finally fixed and adopted and as may be amended as provided in 7-6-4231 by the council, constitute the appropriations for the municipality for the fiscal year intended to be covered by the estimates.
     (2) Except as provided in 7-6-4236, the council and each other municipal official is limited in the making of expenditures or incurring of liabilities to the amount of the detailed appropriations and classifications, respectively.
     (3) This section does not apply to a municipality that has adopted the alternative accounting method provided for in Title 7, chapter 6, part 6.
