Legislative Council

The Legislative Council will meet on Wednesday, September 6, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. in Room 137 of the state Capitol building in Helena. They will recess for lunch and reconvene at the Barrister Bed and Breakfast for the afternoon of September 6 and the morning of September 7 for a strategic planning session*.

Agenda items for the September 6 business meeting include: Division updates on staff, the Session Systems Replacement project, the Vote Systems Upgrade, and interstate organization activities; 2017 session statistics and legal updates on initiative and referenda status; budget updates; and, follow-up on the implementation of the Legislative Constituent Services Stipends. The council will be considering an appointment to the Uniform Law Commission to fill the vacancy created following Karen Powell's resignation.

*The strategic planning portion of the meeting is open to the public, but there will be no opportunity for public comment (see 9/6 morning agenda for public comment period). This portion will not be videotaped or audiostreamed, but the results of the strategic planning will be posted to the council's website.
