The Energy and Telecommunication Interim Committee (ETIC) meets July 29 to outline its work for the 2019-20 interim. The organizational meeting begins at 9 a.m., in room 172 of the state Capitol.

The ETIC is statutorily required to review the state’s energy policy and determine if further discussion should be dedicated to revising the policy.

During the meeting in Helena, the committee will also accept public comment concerning the policy. Energy policy work may also be included in the committee’s work plan.

During the July 29 meeting, committee members also will adopt a draft work plan mapping out their work for the interim, and elect a presiding officer and vice-presiding officer. The committee will hear updates on the future closure of Colstrip units, the NorthWestern Energy and Montana Dakota Utilities rate cases, and the Universal Systems Benefit Program.

Members of the 2019-20 ETIC are senators Janet Ellis, Mary McNally, Keith Regier, and Tom Richmond and representatives Laurie Bishop, Denise Hayman, Christopher Pope, Derek Skees, Brad Tschida, and Daniel Zolnikov.
