The Economic Affairs Committee of the Legislature will hear from various telecommunications providers Jan. 15 as the legislators consider how best to create incentives to improve access and affordability for broadband in Montana.

At their Nov. 7 meeting members of the Economic Affairs Interim Committee of the legislature decided to continue objections on two sets of rules, one related to dentures over implants and another related to a new point system for violations of alcohol laws.

Gnashing of {implanted) teeth and rules that could drive someone to drink are completely separate topics in some worlds, but legislators at the Nov. 7 meeting of the Economic Affairs Interim Committee will have the opportunity to hear concerns both about proposed dentures/teeth implant rules and penalties related to violating alcohol laws.

The Economic Affairs Interim Committee (EAIC) adopted a work plan at its Sept. 11 meeting to include studies of alcohol laws and broadband along with studies of how the lodging facility use tax is distributed and whether changes in occupational licensing laws might improve work opportunities for those convicted of crimes.
