The LFC Education Subcommittee will look at special education funding, community college funding formula, and digital library services.

The Legislative Finance Committee Education Subcommittee (subcommittee) will meet on September 18, 2019 in Room 102 of the State Capitol to begin two studies:

  • HB 657 required the LFC to study K-12 special education funding, the community college funding formula, and career and technical education credit values
  • HB 633 directed the LFC to study the adequate and fair distribution of costs for administering and operating digital library services

Review of current funding models and legislative efforts in the 2017 Legislative Session will be topics of discussion for both studies. 

Senate members appointed to the subcommittee are Edie McClafferty, D-Butte, Dan Salomon, R-Ronan, and Janet Ellis, D-Helena.  House members include David Bedey, R-Hamilton, Bruce Grubbs, R-Bozeman, Moffie Funk, D-Helena, Bradley Hamlett, D-Cascade, Llew Jones, R-Conrad.  The subcommittee will elect its presiding and vice-presiding officers at its September 18, 2019 meeting.
