Senate
The Senate is made up of 50 members elected to 4-year terms. Montanans elect half of the 50 members every 2 years.
There are 17 Senate Committees, which meet on varying schedules to hear public comment on proposed legislation. All committee meetings are open to the public. Members of the Senate Finance and Claims Committee also serve on several joint subcommittees, which meet to review and debate state spending proposals.
