Agency Oversight
The Children and Families Committee is responsible, by law, for monitoring the activities and programs of the Department of Public Health and Human Services. Specific oversight duties include reviewing:
- the agency's proposed and adopted administrative rules;
- proposed agency legislation;
- reports that DPHHS or other agencies must, by law, provide to the committee; and
- implementation of the Montana Medical Marijuana Act.
The committee is also monitoring the implementation of House Bill 658, to continue Montana's Medicaid expansion program and put in place work and other community engagement requirements for expansion enrollees.
